1936 was apparently a great year for denim! And this offering from Lee Archives is certainly testament to that. Cut from a 13.5 ounce denim, which has been treated to an incredibly authentic ‘heavy wash’ ageing process, this jeans boasts a wide straight leg, and a comfortable high rise for comfort when ranchers were in the saddle.
Durable features come in the form of triple stitch seams at the seat and yoke, branded copper rivets throughout, including a ‘cowboy’ crotch rivet, and bar tacked back pockets at points of stress. A natural and blue selvedge id speaks for the integrity of the fabric, while a cinch back has been custom manufactured by Lee, to allow the shape of the waist to be easily adjusted. For a final touch of detail, the brand have included their iconic ‘hair on hide’ leather patch, which looks like it has served this jean well, for almost a century.
